Program Overview:
Discover the power of storytelling through film! The Arts First Summer Film Camp invites youth ages 12–18 to dive into the exciting world of filmmaking. This immersive, hands-on program covers the essentials of visual storytelling and film production, treating film as a dynamic two-dimensional art form.
Campers will explore a wide range of creative disciplines, including:
-
Acting & Dance for the Camera
-
Screenwriting & Storyboarding
-
Lighting & Cinematography
-
Sound Design & Foley Art
Participants will work with professional tools and industry-standard software like Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve and Logic Pro to produce their own digital short films.
High School Internship Opportunity:
Arts First also offers a paid internship for 2–4 high school students. Interns will assist with daily camp operations and lead peer film crews in the creation of final projects—developing leadership, collaboration, and technical skills along the way.
By the end of camp, students will have a strong foundation in filmmaking terminology, camera work, and editing, as well as a short film project to call their own.
